The Most Wonderful Blog of the Year

November 2, 2023 | Jim Angehr

In the midst of much shadow and darkness, dear readers, Letters to You arrives with an early Christmas present: itself!

At the same time, however, my “sorry that the blog has been offline” is a real one. I genuinely enjoy writing these little columns, and I’ve been bummed not to have done so more often.

The good news here is that the reason for the bloggish silence is related to what I want to tell you about. If since the departure of our beloved Executive Pastor, Eric Mitchell, has clawed away at some the margins that enabled me to write letters to you more frequently, let’s give a warm welcome to our new Assistant Pastor of Discipleship, Angel Garcia!

Angel’s first day with us is this coming Sunday, and I’m thrilled that he’ll be joining the fold. Friends, Romans, and countrymen of Liberti Collingswood have already received a missive from yours truly about Angel, but the short of it is that he’ll be serving us in ways that leaders at our church feel God is inviting us to grow. This is a season in which we feel called to go deeper.

In our Home Meetings this year, we’re aiming to go deeper in our relationships with one another and with Jesus. In our partnerships, both locally and globally, we’re going deeper. In our Colossians sermon series, we’re going deeper. And likewise, Angel is coming on board in order to serve those same ends, and more. To help our families, our men’s ministries, our women’s ministries, various kinds of existing and yet-to-be-born groups. Stay tuned for good stuff yet to come!

Ditto for Letters to You itself. Even if your humble penman hasn’t been pressing the “publish” button too often lately, he’s been filling his (Supernote) notebook with thoughts, jots, and tittles for upcoming posts. For the rest of November, you’ll see some SBC and some NBC coming from me––watch this space for an upcoming explanation of terms––while we’ll line up some guest memoirists for December who will share with us some reminisces and ruminations related to the season.

Go Phillies!  (Kidding.)
